- ½ tsp fine sea salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 4 Oreos, chopped (plus more for topping)
For the Brownie Batter:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup + ⅛ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Cookie Dough: In a bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in the flour, salt, and baking soda, then fold in the chopped Oreos. Set aside.
- Make the Brownie Batter: Melt the butter and chocolate chips together, stirring until smooth. Whisk in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
- Assemble the Layers: Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough on top, gently spreading it to cover most of the brownie layer. Press additional Oreo pieces on top.
- Bake to Perfection: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set but the center is slightly gooey. Let cool before slicing into bars.
