Ingredients
- 4 cube steaks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour (for gravy)
- 2 cups milk (for gravy)
- Salt and black pepper (for gravy)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk eggs and milk together. In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Dredge each steak in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat again in flour.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Fry steaks until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
For gravy, melt butter in the skillet. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly add milk, stirring until thickened. Season to taste.
Serve steaks hot with generous spoonfuls of gravy.
Notes
- Use cube steak for best results as it’s already tenderized
- Let the breading set on the steaks for 5 minutes before frying to improve adhesion
