Juicy, pan-seared chicken thighs served over creamy broccoli cheddar orzo—this one-pan dish is simple, comforting, and packed with flavor.


Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Season chicken thighs with paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sear chicken skin-side down until crispy, about 6–7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, sauté garlic, then stir in orzo. Cook for 1 minute.

  • Add broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in broccoli.

  • Nestle chicken back in. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, until orzo is tender and chicken is cooked through.

  • Remove chicken. Stir in cheese and cream until smooth. Serve with chicken on top.

Notes

  • For boneless chicken, reduce cooking time by 5–7 minutes.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
