- 3 garlic cloves, sliced or roughly chopped
- Black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (45g)
Optional Garnish:
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the Rice:
Prepare 1 cup of long-grain white rice according to the package instructions. Once fully cooked, drain any excess water and set aside. - Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a medium-sized pan, melt 1 tablespoon of salted butter over medium heat. Add the sliced or chopped garlic along with a pinch of black pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the garlic becomes soft and fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic. - Combine the Ingredients:
Add the cooked rice to the pan with the garlic butter. Sprinkle in the freshly grated parmesan cheese and stir thoroughly to coat the rice evenly. - Serve:
Transfer the rice to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Rice Options: While long-grain white rice works best, you can also use basmati or jasmine rice for slightly different textures and flavors.
- Grate Your Parmesan: Freshly grated parmesan melts better and delivers a richer taste compared to pre-shredded versions.
- Storage Tips: Store leftover rice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stovetop or microwave, adding a splash of water if needed to maintain moisture.
- Additions: For a complete meal, mix in sautéed vegetables like peas, mushrooms, or spinach.
