Description
A delicious and tender chicken recipe that melts in your mouth, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
- ½ cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best flavor.
- In a separate shallow dish, mix together the flour, Parmesan cheese, and dried Italian herbs if using.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted and bubbling, add the coated chicken breasts to the skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute the buttermilk with plain Greek yogurt and use olive oil instead of butter.
- To add a kick, incorporate some cayenne pepper into the flour mixture for a spicy twist.
