Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Place chicken breasts in the crockpot.
In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Pour over chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken and shred or slice.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the sauce. Cook on high for 15 minutes to thicken.
Return chicken to crockpot, stir to coat, then serve with rice and garnish.
Notes
- You can use chicken thighs for a juicier result. Adjust sweetness by reducing brown sugar slightly if preferred. Leftovers are great for meal prep.
