Description

These Colorful Marshmallow Crispy Treats are a fun, chewy, and irresistibly sweet snack perfect for any occasion! Made with gooey marshmallows, crispy rice cereal, and a touch of vanilla, they come together in minutes with no baking required. Customize them with food coloring, sprinkles, or edible glitter for a festive twist that both kids and adults will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.

  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. If using multiple colors, divide the mixture into separate bowls and add food coloring to each.

  • Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, stirring until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.

  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch pan. Lightly press down with a greased spatula to spread evenly, being careful not to pack them too tightly.

  • If desired, sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles before the mixture sets.

  • Let cool for about 30 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For extra gooey treats, add an extra cup of mini marshmallows at the end before pressing into the pan.
  • Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture—stale ones won’t melt as smoothly.
  • Lightly grease your hands or spatula to prevent sticking when spreading the mixture in the pan.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
