- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, brown sugar, ketchup, egg, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and brown sugar for the glaze. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
