Description
A French bistro classic, Steak Frites pairs perfectly seared steak with crispy golden fries for an indulgent, restaurant-style dinner at home.
Ingredients

- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 garlic cloves, smashed
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- 1 lb russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for fries)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss fries with oil, salt, and pepper. Bake for 25–30 minutes until crispy.
Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high. Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side.
Add butter, garlic, and herbs. Baste steaks for 1–2 minutes.
Rest steak 5 minutes. Serve with fries.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
- You can air-fry the fries instead of baking.
- Serve with garlic aioli or herb butter.
