Description

Elevate your sandwich game with this Grilled Cheese Club Sandwich, a mouthwatering fusion of melty cheese, crispy bacon, fresh veggies, and savory deli turkey. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a hearty snack, this layered masterpiece combines comfort food with gourmet flair in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pieces of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 23 ounces Monterey Jack cheese (grated or sliced)
  • 23 strips of bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 12 teaspoons butter (for grilling the cheese)
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise (for the club layer)
  • 34 ounces deli turkey
  • Red onion, sliced thin
  • Tomato slices
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Pickle spears (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Bacon:
Cook the bacon using your favorite method (skillet, oven, or microwave) until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

2. Assemble the Grilled Cheese Layer:

  • Butter two slices of bread on one side each.
  • Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Place one buttered slice in the skillet, butter side down.
  • Top with grated or sliced Monterey Jack cheese and crumbled crispy bacon.
  • Add the second buttered slice on top, butter side up.
  • Cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.

3. Prepare the Club Layer:

  • Toast the third piece of bread.
  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of the toasted bread.
  • Top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and deli turkey.
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper if desired.

4. Combine the Layers:

  • Once the grilled cheese is ready, place it directly on top of the open-faced club sandwich layer.
  • Press lightly to secure the layers.

5. Slice and Serve:

  • Slice the sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters for easier handling.
  • Serve immediately with pickle spears for garnish, if desired.

Notes

  • Cheese Options: Substitute Monterey Jack with cheddar, Swiss, or provolone for different flavor profiles.
  • Customization: Add avocado slices, a drizzle of honey mustard, or jalapeños for extra flair.
  • Vegetarian Alternative: Swap the turkey and bacon for grilled veggies or plant-based proteins.
  • Storage Tip: If preparing ahead, store components separately and assemble just before serving for the best texture.
