Description
A delicious and spicy chicken burger infused with chipotle flavors, perfect for grilling enthusiasts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon chipotle in adobo sauce, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced chipotle, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined, but do not overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty to melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, mix the mayonnaise and lime juice in a small bowl.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the lime mayo on the bottom bun, adding the lettuce, followed by the chicken patty, tomato slice, and finally the top bun.
Notes
- For extra heat, add more chipotle or a few dashes of hot sauce to the chicken mixture.
- Try substituting ground turkey for the chicken for a leaner option.
