Description

This nostalgic cabbage casserole is hearty, budget-friendly, and pure comfort food. Layers of tender cabbage, beef, and a creamy sauce baked until bubbly perfection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Brown beef with onion in a skillet; drain excess fat.

  • In a large bowl, combine soup, sour cream, and rice. Season with salt and pepper.

  • In a greased baking dish, layer cabbage, beef, and rice mixture.

  • Top with cheese and sprinkle with paprika.

  • Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until golden.
