Ingredients
For the Crust & Crumble Topping:
- All-purpose flour
- Granulated sugar
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- Large eggs
For the Lemon Filling:
- Fresh lemon juice
- Lemon zest
- Sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust & Topping – In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add eggs and mix until combined.
- Form the Base – Press half of the crumble mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish to create an even layer.
- Make the Lemon Filling – In a separate bowl, whisk together lemon juice, lemon zest, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
- Assemble the Bars – Pour the lemon filling over the crust, then sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture evenly on top.
- Bake – Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the topping is golden and crisp.
- Cool & Serve – Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing. Serve chilled or at room temperature for the best flavor.
Notes
- For extra lemon flavor, add a little more zest to the filling.
