Enjoy all the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak in meatloaf form! This hearty dish is cheesy, savory, and stuffed with bell peppers and onions for an irresistible twist on a favorite.
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 1 egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Extra cheese for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment or grease well.
In a large bowl, combine beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
Fold in cheese gently. Shape into a loaf and place in prepared pan.
Bake for 40–45 minutes. Top with extra cheese and broil for 2–3 minutes until melted and bubbly.
Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Add mushrooms or red peppers for extra cheesesteak flair.
- Serve with hoagie rolls or mashed potatoes.
