Description
Oreo Truffle Balls are a delicious and easy-to-make sweet treat made with crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (15.35 oz) Oreo cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 16 oz chocolate melting wafers or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Sprinkles or crushed Oreos for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
- Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract to the crushed Oreos. Mix until well combined and a dough-like consistency forms.
- Using your hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- While the truffles are chilling, melt the chocolate melting wafers or semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, using a fork to lift it out and allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- If desired, sprinkle crushed Oreos or colorful sprinkles on top of the chocolate before it sets.
- Refrigerate the truffles for another 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try using flavored Oreos, like mint or peanut butter, for different taste variations.
- You can also drizzle white chocolate over the dark chocolate coating for a decorative touch.
