Description

Oreo Truffle Balls are a delicious and easy-to-make sweet treat made with crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (15.35 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 16 oz chocolate melting wafers or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles or crushed Oreos for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract to the crushed Oreos. Mix until well combined and a dough-like consistency forms.
  3. Using your hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. While the truffles are chilling, melt the chocolate melting wafers or semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  5. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, using a fork to lift it out and allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. If desired, sprinkle crushed Oreos or colorful sprinkles on top of the chocolate before it sets.
  7. Refrigerate the truffles for another 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, try using flavored Oreos, like mint or peanut butter, for different taste variations.
  • You can also drizzle white chocolate over the dark chocolate coating for a decorative touch.
