Bold and hearty, this spicy sausage and spinach penne is packed with flavor from savory Italian sausage, garlic, and creamy tomato sauce with a peppery kick.

- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 cups fresh spinach
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan for topping
Instructions
Cook penne according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and brown sausage until cooked through.
Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook 1 minute. Stir in marinara and cream. Simmer 5 minutes.
Add spinach and stir until wilted. Toss in cooked pasta and reserved water if needed.
Top with Parmesan and serve hot.
