Description

This Ground Beef Teriyaki Rice Bowl is a quick, flavorful, and satisfying meal perfect for busy weeknights! Juicy ground beef is coated in a rich, sweet, and savory teriyaki sauce, then served over fluffy rice with crisp veggies. Ready in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.

  • Make the Sauce: Add garlic and ginger to the beef, then stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

  • Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

  • Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice into bowls. Top with teriyaki beef, steamed broccoli, and shredded carrots.

  • Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy hot!

Notes

  • Swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Add a splash of pineapple juice to the sauce for extra sweetness.
  • Serve with a fried egg on top for a delicious twist!
