These stunning matcha crinkle cookies are soft, fudgy, and coated in powdered sugar for a gorgeous crackled effect and delicious green tea flavor.

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for rolling
Instructions
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Add flour, matcha, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined.
Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet.
Roll dough into balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
Let cool before serving.
Notes
- The chilling step is key to getting perfect crinkles. For deeper green color, use ceremonial grade matcha.
