Description

Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole is a comforting dish that combines the classic flavors of meatloaf and macaroni and cheese into a delicious casserole.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cooked macaroni, 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and smoked paprika. Stir until the macaroni is well coated.
  4. Spread half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Layer the macaroni mixture on top, then top with the remaining meat mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and the Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add an extra 1/2 cup of milk to the macaroni mixture.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • For added flavor, mix in some cooked bacon or diced vegetables like bell peppers or spinach into the macaroni.
