Description

A quick and easier twist on the classic takeout dish! Ground chicken is cooked in a sweet and tangy General Tso’s-style sauce for a flavorful and satisfying meal served over rice or noodles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp grated ginger
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil or vegetable oil
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, cook until fragrant.

  • Add ground chicken and cook until fully browned.

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin, vinegar, and brown sugar.

  • Pour sauce into the skillet and stir.

  • Add cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened, 2–3 minutes.

  • Serve over rice and top with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Make it spicy with red pepper flakes or chili garlic sauce.
  • Add steamed broccoli for a full meal.
