Description

Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef Tacos are a flavorful delight that combines savory ground beef with a sweet and tangy sauce, all wrapped in soft tortillas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  4. While the beef mixture is cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate pan or microwave until soft and pliable.
  5. To assemble the tacos, spoon the beef mixture onto each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheese. Add a dollop of sour cream if desired.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
