Garlic butter shrimp toast is the perfect combination of crispy, golden bread topped with juicy shrimp, rich garlic butter, and melted cheese. This quick and easy dish works as an appetizer, snack, or even a light meal. With just a handful of ingredients, you can create a restaurant-quality dish right in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of your favorite bread
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Garlic Butter Spread: In a bowl, combine the softened butter with minced garlic. Stir until well mixed.

  • Toast the Bread: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the garlic butter evenly over the slices of bread and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes until lightly toasted.

  • Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.

  • Assemble the Toast: Distribute the cooked shrimp evenly over the toasted bread slices. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  • Bake Again: Return the toast to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle dried parsley over the top and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
  • Substitute mozzarella with provolone or Gruyère for a different flavor profile.
  • If using frozen shrimp, make sure they are fully thawed and patted dry before cooking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes for best results.
