Description

Crispy Fried Mushrooms with Cool Ranch Dip are irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
  3. Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Dip each mushroom in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
  5. In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F).
  6. Carefully add the breaded mushrooms in batches to the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. For the Cool Ranch Dip, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice in a bowl. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  8. Serve the crispy fried mushrooms warm with the Cool Ranch Dip on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper to the flour mixture or serve with a spicy dipping sauce.
  • Try using different types of mushrooms, such as portobello or shiitake, for varied flavors and textures.
