Description

These Three-Cheese Stuffed Shells are a classic Italian comfort food, featuring jumbo pasta shells filled with a rich and creamy blend of ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Baked in a flavorful marinara sauce and topped with extra melted cheese, this dish is perfect for family dinners, special occasions, or meal prep. It’s easy to make, satisfying, and guaranteed to be a hit at the dinner table!

Ingredients

  • Jumbo pasta shells
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh spinach, chopped
  • Large egg
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Marinara sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

Instructions

    • Cook the pasta shells until al dente, then drain and let them cool slightly.
    • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, spinach, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
    • Fill each cooked shell with the cheese mixture and arrange them in the dish.
    • Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells and sprinkle additional mozzarella on top.
    • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
    • Garnish with extra parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cook the pasta just until al dente to prevent them from becoming too soft.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
  • This dish can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • To freeze, assemble the shells in a freezer-safe dish, cover tightly, and freeze for up to 3 months.
