Chopped Steak Salad is a fresh and flavorful dish featuring grilled flank steak served over a bed of crisp vegetables.

- 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup cucumber, diced
- 1 bell pepper (any color), diced
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture over the flank steak.
- Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- While the steak is resting, prepare the salad. In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, red onion, and avocado.
- Slice the grilled steak against the grain into thin strips and add it to the salad.
- If using, sprinkle blue cheese crumbles over the top and drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette. Toss gently to combine.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the salad.
- Substitute the flank steak with grilled chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
