Description

Chili Lime Flank Steak is a flavorful and zesty dish perfect for grilling enthusiasts, combining the tang of lime with the warmth of chili spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and lime zest to create a marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
  • Serve the steak with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
