Ingredients

Scale

For the filling:

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (10 ounces) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained

For the crescent rolls:

    • 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
    • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (optional for brushing)
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional for added flavor)

Instructions

    • Cook the Sausage

      • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
    • Prepare the Filling

      • Add the softened cream cheese and drained Rotel tomatoes to the cooked sausage. Stir until well combined and creamy.
    • Assemble the Crescent Bites

      • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
      • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
      • Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture onto the wider end of each crescent roll triangle.
      • Roll the dough over the filling and tuck the ends to seal.
    • Bake Until Golden

      • Place the filled crescent rolls on a lined baking sheet.
      • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder for extra flavor (optional).
      • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Serve and Enjoy

      • Let the bites cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or spicy sriracha mayo.

Notes

  • Drain the Rotel tomatoes well to prevent excess moisture in the filling.
  • If making ahead, assemble the crescent rolls and store them in the fridge until ready to bake.
  • For a spicier version, use hot sausage or add red pepper flakes.
  • These bites can be frozen before baking—just bake straight from the freezer for an extra 5-7 minutes.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and reheated in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
