Description

A comforting and delicious Cheesy Ground Beef Pasta Bake that combines pasta, ground beef, and a blend of cheeses for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow macaroni or penne)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture in the skillet, stirring until well mixed.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped bell peppers or mushrooms when sautéing the onion and garlic.
  • To make it a bit healthier, substitute whole wheat pasta and lean ground turkey for the beef.
