Description

Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole is a comforting and delicious dish that combines the flavors of a cheeseburger with crispy tater tots, making it a perfect family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in half of the cheddar cheese, pickles, mustard, and ketchup if using.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Layer the frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • You can also substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
