Description

This Bourbon Salmon is a restaurant-quality dish made right at home! The rich, sweet, and savory bourbon glaze caramelizes beautifully over the salmon, creating an irresistible flavor. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s perfect for a quick yet elegant dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • ⅓ cup bourbon
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

    • Make the Bourbon Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, ginger, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

    • Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with black pepper.

    • Cook the Salmon: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes.

    • Glaze the Salmon: Pour the bourbon glaze over the salmon, spooning it over the fillets as it thickens. Cook for 1-2 more minutes until the salmon is fully cooked and coated in the sauce.

    • Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in the bourbon glaze for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.
  • Pairs well with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or sautéed greens.
