Description

This vibrant and tangy Greek Salad Dressing is the perfect way to bring bold Mediterranean flavors to your table. Made with a simple blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar, and classic herbs, this quick and easy dressing is ideal for salads, marinades, and dipping. With its zesty flavor and fresh ingredients, you’ll never want store-bought again!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 2/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients:
    • Place the olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic powder, oregano, basil, onion powder, pepper, salt, and Dijon mustard into a jar or a dressing container with a tight-fitting lid.
  • Shake to Emulsify:
    • Seal the jar tightly and shake it vigorously for about 30 seconds until all the ingredients are well mixed and emulsified.
  • Taste and Adjust:
    • Open the jar and taste the dressing. Adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt, pepper, or vinegar to suit your preferences.
  • Chill and Serve:
    • For the best flavor, let the dressing sit for at least 10-15 minutes to allow the herbs and spices to infuse. Drizzle over salads, use as a marinade, or enjoy as a dip.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Shake well before each use, as the oil and vinegar will naturally separate over time.
  • Customizable: Add a pinch of sugar or honey if you prefer a slightly sweeter dressing. You can also swap red wine vinegar for lemon juice or apple cider vinegar for a different tang.
  • Fresh Herbs Option: Use fresh oregano and basil instead of dried if you have them on hand. Double the amount of fresh herbs to replace dried.
  • Serving Ideas: This dressing isn’t just for salads—use it as a marinade for chicken or fish, drizzle over roasted vegetables, or serve as a dip for fresh bread.
