Description

A cozy and comforting Beefy Pasta Bake recipe that combines pasta, ground beef, and cheese for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture. Stir until well combined.
  7. Transfer the pasta and beef mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms to the beef mixture for extra nutrition and flavor.
