Description

A rich and hearty Italian beef Bolognese sauce that is easy to make and perfect for pasta dishes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, finely chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery, and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  5. Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until reduced by half.
  6. Add the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  8. Stir in the milk and let it cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  9. Serve over your favorite pasta and garnish with fresh basil.
