A rich and hearty Italian beef Bolognese sauce that is easy to make and perfect for pasta dishes.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery, and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until reduced by half.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the milk and let it cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Serve over your favorite pasta and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, let the sauce simmer longer.
- This sauce can be made ahead of time and freezes well.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese for added flavor.
