Ingredients
  

For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil for a dairy-free option
  • 1/4 cup orange juice freshly squeezed from 1 orange
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup for a vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 clove garlic (minced) can substitute with garlic powder
For the Salmon
  • 2 fillets salmon wild-caught Pacific salmon recommended
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
Optional Thickener
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch use if a thicker glaze is desired

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes. Add butter or olive oil to the skillet, allowing it to melt and shimmer.
  2. Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides, then place them skin side up in the hot skillet.
  3. Cook the salmon for 3 to 5 minutes without moving, then flip carefully to cook the other side.
  4. Cook the other side for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add orange juice, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Whisk the mixture together.
  6. If desired, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water, pour into the skillet and whisk until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return the cooked salmon to the skillet and spoon the orange glaze over the top, heating for a minute.
  8. Transfer to serving plates and enjoy with steamed veggies or rice.
