- Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes. Add butter or olive oil to the skillet, allowing it to melt and shimmer.
- Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides, then place them skin side up in the hot skillet.
- Cook the salmon for 3 to 5 minutes without moving, then flip carefully to cook the other side.
- Cook the other side for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add orange juice, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Whisk the mixture together.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water, pour into the skillet and whisk until the sauce thickens.
- Return the cooked salmon to the skillet and spoon the orange glaze over the top, heating for a minute.
- Transfer to serving plates and enjoy with steamed veggies or rice.
