Filling
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade seasoning
  • 1 can diced tomatoes & green chiles undrained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese can substitute with Mexican blend or pepper jack
  • ½ cup ranch dressing or chipotle ranch
Shells
  • 12 pieces frozen phyllo tart shells keep frozen until ready to use

Method
 

Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound of lean ground beef until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles.
  3. Add taco seasoning, undrained diced tomatoes, and green chiles to the cooked beef and stir well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese with ½ cup of ranch dressing. Fold in the beef mixture.
  5. Spoon the filling into each frozen phyllo tart shell and arrange them on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes for fresh shells or 10-13 minutes for frozen shells until heated and tops are golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet before serving warm with your favorite dips.
