Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine warm water with sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Once yeast is frothy, add flour, salt, and olive oil into the bowl. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly and let the dough rise in a warm area for 1 to 1½ hours until doubled in size.
  4. Finely mince the garlic and grate the Parmesan. Chop fresh herbs if using.
  5. Drizzle oil into a baking pan, then stretch the risen dough to fit the pan.
  6. Press deep dimples into the dough surface with fingertips.
  7. Sprinkle minced garlic, grated cheese, and any herbs on top. Add flaky sea salt.
  8. Cover the pan with a towel and let the dough rest for 20 to 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cut and serve warm.
