  • 1 lb Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts/Thighs can substitute with shrimp, salmon, or tofu
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder or fresh diced onion
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning or fresh herbs
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika smoked paprika adds different flavor
  • 0.5 tsp Salt to taste
  • 0.25 tsp Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Butter or substitute with oil for dairy-free
For the Sauce
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic adjust to taste
  • 1 small Finely Diced Onion or omit for simpler dish
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or coconut milk for dairy-free
  • 0.5 cup Chicken Broth for sauce
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth for rice
  • 0.5 tsp Dried Thyme or use fresh (3 times more)
  • 0.5 tsp Dried Rosemary or use fresh (3 times more)
  • 0.5 tsp Dried Oregano or use fresh (3 times more)
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated or nutritional yeast for dairy-free
For the Rice
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice, rinsed can substitute with jasmine or long-grain rice
  • 0.5 tsp Salt for rice
  • 0.25 tsp Pepper for rice
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped optional
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest optional

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Sear the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, melt butter and add diced onion, cooking until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Cook the Rice: Add rinsed basmati rice and stir for 1 minute. Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth with salt and pepper. Stir to combine, ensuring rice is evenly distributed.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: Reduce heat to low, add heavy cream, dried thyme, rosemary, oregano, and grated Parmesan. Stir until cheese melts and sauce is smooth.
  5. Simmer Together: Nestle seared chicken back into mixture, cover, and let simmer on low for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley and lemon zest before serving.
