  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or half-and-half for a lighter option
  • 1 cup Whole Milk or almond/skim milk for a lighter option
  • 1/2 cup Orange Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract pure
  • 1/4 cup Flour or cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt a pinch
Optional Garnishes
  • 1 cup Whipped Cream flavored variations optional
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Orange Zest for garnish
  • 1/2 cup Sugared Cranberries for decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare the pie crust.
  2. Arrange the cranberries evenly across the bottom of the crust.
  3. Sprinkle fresh orange zest over the cranberries.
  4. Whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until smooth, then mix in heavy cream, milk, orange juice, vanilla, flour, and salt.
  5. Pour the custard mixture over the filling.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the custard is mostly set with a slight jiggle.
  7. Cool for 1 hour and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
