- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat or preheat your panini press to medium-high.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of apple butter on each of the four slices of bread.
- On two slices of bread with apple butter, layer half of the chopped sage, half of the cheddar cheese, thinly sliced apple, and deli turkey.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top with the apple butter side facing down.
- Spread light butter over the top and bottom of each sandwich.
- Cook sandwiches in the skillet or press for 2-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove and let cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot.
