  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract pure vanilla recommended
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour substitute with gluten-free flour for gluten-free option
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda check for freshness
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
For the Add-Ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips dark or semisweet
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes optional
  • 1 cup white chocolate for drizzling, optional

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, and then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and crushed candy canes if using.
  6. Scoop balls of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Optional: Drizzle with melted white chocolate and add additional crushed candy canes on top.
