Ingredients
  

For the Frikadellen:
  • ½ lb ground beef 250g
  • ½ lb ground pork 250g
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil for frying

Method
 

Prepare the Breadcrumb Mixture:
  1. In a small bowl, soak breadcrumbs in milk for 5 minutes to soften.
Sauté the Onions:
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil or butter in a pan and cook onions until translucent. Let cool.
Mix the Meat:
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, minced garlic, soaked breadcrumbs, sautéed onions, and egg.
  2. Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, and parsley.
  3. Mix well with your hands until combined.
Shape the Frikadellen:
  1. Divide into 4-6 portions and shape into flat, oval-shaped patties about ½ inch thick.
Cook the Frikadellen:
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter or oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and fully cooked.
Serve & Enjoy:
  1. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, mustard, bread rolls, or salad.

Notes

  • For Extra Juiciness: Use a mix of ground pork and beef for the best flavor.
  • Don’t Overmix the Meat: Overworking it can make the patties dense.
  • Cook on Medium Heat: This prevents burning while ensuring even cooking.
  • Make Ahead: Store uncooked patties in the fridge for up to 24 hours before frying.
