Method

Steps
  1. Prepare the dough by combining active dry yeast with lukewarm milk and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Then, add eggs, sugar, salt, and flour, knead until smooth and let rise for 1-2 hours.
  2. Make the filling by combining apple pie filling, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook for 5-7 minutes until thick and syrupy. Let it cool.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (12x15 inches). Spread the cooled apple filling over, sprinkle with toasted pecans.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape, slice into 1¼-inch sections and place them in a greased baking dish.
  5. Cover and let the rolls rise for 30-60 minutes in a warm area.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for 10 minutes and prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
