Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add olive oil, then stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add broccoli and sauté for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  5. Pour sauce into skillet and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
  7. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken.
  • Add bell peppers or carrots for extra crunch and color.
