Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked pasta penne or rotini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce, heavy cream, oregano, and basil. Stir in the cooked pasta until evenly coated.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the pasta mixture and gently fold to combine.
  8. Transfer the pasta and meatball mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake in the oven for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
