For the Scallion Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Finely Chopped Scallions
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Sugar Balances acidity.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork or beef, breadcrumbs, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, egg, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and form into meatballs.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear meatballs for about 7-10 minutes until browned, then transfer to a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat and add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and water. Stir for 3-5 minutes until glossy. Toss meatballs to coat.
  4. Cover skillet and simmer for 4-6 minutes until cooked through, ensuring internal temperatures of 160°F for pork or 165°F for beef.
  5. Whisk together scallions, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sugar in a small bowl.
  6. Plate meatballs and drizzle with scallion sauce; garnish with more scallions if desired.
