Ingredients
Method
1. Prepare the Bacon:
- Cook the bacon using your favorite method (skillet, oven, or microwave) until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
2. Assemble the Grilled Cheese Layer:
- Butter two slices of bread on one side each.
- Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Place one buttered slice in the skillet, butter side down.
- Top with grated or sliced Monterey Jack cheese and crumbled crispy bacon.
- Add the second buttered slice on top, butter side up.
- Cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
3. Prepare the Club Layer:
- Toast the third piece of bread.
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of the toasted bread.
- Top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and deli turkey.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
4. Combine the Layers:
- Once the grilled cheese is ready, place it directly on top of the open-faced club sandwich layer.
- Press lightly to secure the layers.
5. Slice and Serve:
- Slice the sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters for easier handling.
- Serve immediately with pickle spears for garnish, if desired.
Notes
- Cheese Options: Substitute Monterey Jack with cheddar, Swiss, or provolone for different flavor profiles.
- Customization: Add avocado slices, a drizzle of honey mustard, or jalapeños for extra flair.
- Vegetarian Alternative: Swap the turkey and bacon for grilled veggies or plant-based proteins.
- Storage Tip: If preparing ahead, store components separately and assemble just before serving for the best texture.
