  • All-purpose flour
  • Cornstarch
  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda
  • Room-temperature cream cheese
  • Salted butter or unsalted butter with ½ teaspoon added salt
  • Large eggs at room temperature
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Heavy cream
  • Mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and heavy cream, mixing until fully incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips for even distribution.
  6. Cover and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop out dough balls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
  • For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Chilling the dough prevents excessive spreading and enhances the texture.
  • Warm cookies in the microwave for a few seconds to enjoy them soft and gooey again.
