Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Method

  1. Season chicken thighs with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sear chicken skin-side down until crispy, about 6–7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic, then stir in orzo. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in broccoli.
  5. Nestle chicken back in. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, until orzo is tender and chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove chicken. Stir in cheese and cream until smooth. Serve with chicken on top.

Notes

  • For boneless chicken, reduce cooking time by 5–7 minutes.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
