Ingredients
  

Custard Base
  • 2 cups Cashew Milk or any other plant-based milk
  • 1/3 cup Maple Syrup can substitute with agave syrup or granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract or seeds from 1 vanilla bean
  • 4 tablespoons Cornstarch use 5 tablespoons for a firmer pudding
  • 1 pinch Turmeric optional for color enhancement

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together cashew milk, maple syrup, cornstarch, and turmeric until cornstarch is fully dissolved.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and continuously whisk until the mixture comes to a gentle simmer and thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract or vanilla bean seeds.
  4. Transfer to a heatproof bowl and let cool for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent lumps.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
