Ingredients
  

For the Noodles
  • 10 oz. Linguine cooked al dente
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef or substitute with ground turkey or chicken
For the Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce opt for low-sodium
  • 3 tablespoons Hoisin Sauce or substitute with oyster sauce
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar or coconut sugar for a lower-glycemic alternative
  • 1/4 cup Beef Broth substitute with vegetable broth for vegetarian version
  • 5 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger fresh ginger can enhance flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • a pinch Red Pepper Flakes optional
For Thickening
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch or arrowroot starch
  • 2 tablespoons Water to create a slurry
For Garnishing
  • 4 Green Onions sliced

Method
 

Steps
  1. Boil water and cook 10 oz. of linguine until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook 1 lb. of ground beef over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add 5 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup beef broth, 1/3 cup soy sauce, 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Whisk together 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water. Add to the sauce and stir for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve topped with sliced green onions.

Notes

For best results, sauté garlic until golden but not burnt. Adjust red pepper flakes to personal taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
